First photoshoot with live models!
Getting ready for our first photo-shoot of live models wearing wigs to replace the pictures of long wigs and medium length wigs that are currently displayed on mannequins. This will be a big improvement and will enhance the look of the hair quality as it is being done by a professional photographer. I am wearing one too. A medium length red wig for fun. I've never worn anything but blonde wigs before but I really like this one. The pictures I took are not showing up yet so I'll have try again later.

New wigs, long and short, and... silver too!!http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Just in - another fabulous addition to the Gemma style of long wigs. Fabulously luscious, this new wig basically makes this item available from stock in black, blonde, red and now brown! Basically, we are now growing the range as and according to people's orders. This is partly out of necessity - ie when a wig is ordered that is not currently in stock, we have to order a minimum number and so that then increases our stock in terms of colour range available. It is also a good way to do it as it is customer lead.
We have also just got another two short style wigs. One is very much a blonde wig and in quite a flicky style as this goes down so well with the ladies of a certain age - or middle youthers, shall we call them!
The final new one is also a short style wig and in a lovely silver colour which is very popular at the moment. Even Lily Allen has been spotted wearing a silver wig!
Many ladies who, having come to terms with turning grey years ago, do not want to suddenly change hair colour just because it is thinning or they have alopecia. But it is difficult to match grey hair so a silver wig is often the best solution!

Video clips and better images
I have just bought a little camcorder to make better video clips and also to video the pieces parties. From next week, I will be making some new clips which will be much better as I will have the camcorder on a tripod and not have to squash so much in front of the little camera in my macbook. This will be much better. The views too of the wigs will be much better, showing off their length and lushness better.
In just under two weeks we will do the first photo shoot of real live models for the website. The models will be wearing the wigs and it will give a much better idea of what a wig can do for you to either just have fun for the evening, or to change your look altogether if you wear them all the time. Another important aspect of this is that we will have all the girls photographed wearing all the wigs irrespective of colour. So, we have two Indian girls whose natural hair is black. They will be seen in all other colours as I want people to get the idea that a wig does not have to look like your own hair - what would be the point? The idea is that you can have fun and experiment with other colours too. I have seen Japanese kids with their hair dyed blonde and against their skin colour it looks really great! Equally, a black girl with blonde or red hair looks stunning. Then, of course, you do not have to dye your own hair to have all this - just buy a wig for when you want to!

Video clips on wearing and caring for your wigs
Yes, at last, my first 9 video clips are done and they are on the website www.wearmyhair.com/videoclips.php.
They are also on YouTube www.youtube.com/user/wearmyhair. Though not brilliant quality, they do convey the messages which are, of course, all about wigs. They show the structure of a wig, how to put on and adjust it, how to style and trim the fringe, and they also discuss how to accessorise, wash and care for your wig. Unfortunately, I am only able to post a couple of clips here so go to the above links to watch them in full! I will put them on here as soon as I can.

Wig wearing on youtube!
Tomorrow is the day I load my video clips on wig wearing know-how onto youtube. You can find it here www.youtube.com/user/wearmyhair
I think it will be really useful for people considering wearing a wig for whatever reason. It will help them to see that it is really easy, not at all hot and that they never fall or blow off. Also that you can do all sorts of funky things to style them! They are such fun and the videos will be linked to my website also from tomorrow at www.wearmyhair.com
Saw a very moving story about a little girl from Suffolk who had a wig for chemotherapy as she was going to have a bone marrow transplant. I dont know where the family bought the wig but I bet they paid a load more than they would have had to from me and Cambridge is not so far from Suffolk! We do children's wigs for girls and boys! We offer free consultation with an appointment and all products are also available to buy online from www.wearmyhair.com

Better prices and a better service
wear my hair recently heard about people suffering from hairloss, cancer & alopecia having to pay £300 and more for a synthetic wig and a consultation! This is outrageous! www.wearmyhair.com is based in Cambridge and all stock is held in Cambridge, consultations are free with an appointment and everyone can try on as many wigs as they want. In a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, everyone is offered coffee or tea and can take as long as they need trying on wigs and they are encouraged to bring a friend or relative for a second opinion if they wish to.
It is a very personal thing and for someone who may be stressed and unhappy due to hair loss and illness it is essential that finding and choosing a wig does not add to that stress. At wear my hair we do our best to help everyone!
