Go for the hair you want, not what you were born with!

How often do you hear your friends and family, well, particularly the females among them, complaining about their hair? For me it's loads and loads. It's everything, too thin, too thick, too curly, too straight, too fine, too frizzy, the list is endless. I even know people who constantly wear their hair scraped back and tied up to keep it out of sight, all day every day.

I do not understand why in this day and age, they do not simply wear a wig. They are so good, so easy, so cheap in comparison to the freedom they bring and the cost of hair salons, which for the most part can only give you a very temporary fix. And, black girls do it all the time and look fab in their wigs and weaves and extensions, they look really briliant.

Go look and buy here, and start the first day of the rest of your life! www.wearmyhair.com

Surprise visitors yesterday

And it was a surprise! I was just returning from a shopping trip in Cambridge and an eye test and suddenly I heard voices behind me as I walked down my drive. Four young girls were following and asked if "this is the wig shop". I invited them in and got out my large stock and sorted them out with the wigs they wanted. I was very thrilled because they represented exactly the customers that I want to attract - girls and women who want to use wigs and hairpieces to accessorize their looks. That is exactly it!

One of them wanted to see how auburn hair would suit her and yet didn't want to take that drastic step of dying her own hair until and unless she was quite sure that it would look as she expected or better. So what better way to "suck it and see" than buying a wig so that she could not only get used to the colour gradually, but she could make regular comparisons with her own natural colour to see if that is really what she wants. And, of course, she can have great fun wearing the wig whenever she wants to.

So now I have added a line or two to the bottom of my homepage at www.wearmyhair.com to explain that it is an online shop and that to view and try on wigs, hairpieces & extensions at my home address is fine, but please make an appointment first so that I can be ready for you!

Website changes make everything clearer

I have spent the weekend making very important changes to the website that should make buying the products much easier and clearer.

1. The colour chart has been renewed to focus on the new colours for the hair extensions and to reflect the fact that all our purchasing from now on will be using these colours. They have been matched to the existing stock of wigs and hairpieces and extensions.

2. For each item, the colour reference and description matches exactly the colour chart and the instruction for selecting that product in the colours shown is given. This is particularly important where a wig or hairpiece contains two or three different colours and may, in the past, have made selection difficult.

3. Because instructions for selecting a pictured item is given, it also makes it obvious how to select different colours if required and this will enhance the added value that these feature affords.

I will spend some time this week going over all the pages again and making sure that all the references match up and that buying from the site is now as straightforward for wigs with two or three colours as it is for wigs, hairpieces and extensions with just one colour.

The final change will be to add the colour grey. We currently have a light grey and a dark grey wig for the " middle youthers " but there is no grey on the colour chart. This will be rectified today.

Let's hope that these changes will greatly improve the experience of shopping at www.wearmyhair.com

New colour chart!

Lots of lovely new colours for your wigs, hairpieces & extensions. It has taken an age to update the colour chart but tomorrow all the wigs and hairpieces and extension colours will be updated too. I think the colour chart is simpler, the reference numbers shorter and less complicated and it should make a better shopping experience.

As with everything, it is up to you, the customers, to tell me what you like and dont like. If there are some colours that you want or some that I have taken off that you want re-instated, just let me know, I will put them back in a jiffy.

But all the new bright colours are there so you can select them for your products now. Dont worry about the colour reference not matching that on the wig picture - I have them all cross-referenced and they will all match tomorrow. Will blog the update tomorrow too!Bold

Getting ready for New Year's Eve!

I certainly am! Going to wear the coloured extensions showed in my last blog and probably more! These have a little comb as well as the clip for fixing so that they work extremely well on a wig. The comb spikes into the weft and helps hold the extension in place and the clip fixes it.

I only used 4 in this picture but I might well use more on Thursday and might even try to plait them or some how make them look extra glam. I will post pickies of course as soon as I have got over my hangover! Thinking of it - better at lease take the pickies before I go out - could be a bit of a disaster otherwise!

Accessorize junkie

That's me ok, I just love accessorizing my looks with wigs and extensions.

I have just finished reading Jade Goody's autobiography, "Fighting to the end". It was very enjoyable and I feel, as I have always felt, a deep admiration for her honesty and courage. I think if anyone got "the heavy load". as opposed to the "silver spoon", she did. I mention it here as there are photos of her and quotes saying how she loved wearing wigs to change her style in an instant.

Here I am again, this time, and it's the day after Boxing Day, wearing a much trimmed "Megan" with a ribbon at the back. I just love it.
