New He-bags & She-bags for storing wigs!

Yes, new, and free He-bags and She-bags for storing your wigs, Hairpieces & extensions! They are designed by wear my hair™ and handmade from recycled fabric. The idea is to add value for customers by giving a beautiful bag for free with each other. An ideal way to store all your wigs, hairpieces & extensions, the He-bag and the She-bag can (site modification pending), be selected by the purchaser who may not actually be the end user. So, at the "Your Basket" page, the purchaser will select either the He-bag or She-bag box according to what they want.

It may be, as last week, a mother, using her husband's email, bought a childrens wig for her little girl who is undergoing chemotherapy. From the order, there would be no indication of this, but to effectively add value for the customer, it is essential to get the right bag to the right end user. This way, the little girl got a lovely pink bag and was thrilled. Also, much nicer to put your wig, hairpiece or extensions into a fabric bag when weekending away or going on holiday. Not only is it so much more attractive, but more discreet too for those for whom wearing a wig is a closely guarded secret!

Here are the first two designs! The He-bag!

And the She-bag!

accessorising your wig

I've been playing with a new wig that I have been wearing for a few days and it is a fab light red colour and sort of mid- neck length. I love the razor cut but I have not been too sure about the length, thinking that shorter is better on me. I found a solution and now really like it. I made little plaits out of the side bits and took them to the back of my head where I tied them with a ribbon and fixed them there as I threaded the ribbon through the weft. Here are the pictures. The wig is Cherie and the colour is FR25/27.

Pieces Parties!

Calling anyone interested in trying on, choosing and buying wigs, hairpieces and extensions! I have been waiting for exams to finish to plan and organise the first "Pieces Party". I will have it at home and invite, first and foremost, the models on my website, my helper, Sharman and their friends. Obviously, I will be hoping to sell some products, I will be hosting the Pieces Party and will incurr costs in doing that and providing refreshments etc. Nevertheless, I don't want people to think that they have to buy stuff each and every time they come. I hope though that people will enter into the spirit of it, and come expecting at some point to buy a wig or hairpiece or even some hair extensions. That will be fine.

The next thing then will be to remake some videos. The first lot have been quite successful and I have had some very good comments but I want to improve on them and do some more. All going to be happening soon! meanwhile, if you haven't already viewed the videos, you can view them here now!

Sorry, it simply did not upload. You can view them here : www.wearmyhair.com/videoclips.php

New live models on website!

At last, all the long wigs & medium length wigs are featured now on real live models. It really brings out the best features of the wigs. The wigs do look different though because on the mannequins, the necks are so long that the long hair wigs hang very long and straight whereas with the live models, the long hair and some of the medium length wigs drape across the shoulders which is more realistic really. Visit the site now to see them all www.wearmyhair.com. Here is a little preview and by the way, these girls are going to be the first, with their friends to come to the pieces parties!

First photoshoot with live models!

Getting ready for our first photo-shoot of live models wearing wigs to replace the pictures of long wigs and medium length wigs that are currently displayed on mannequins. This will be a big improvement and will enhance the look of the hair quality as it is being done by a professional photographer. I am wearing one too. A medium length red wig for fun. I've never worn anything but blonde wigs before but I really like this one. The pictures I took are not showing up yet so I'll have try again later.

New wigs, long and short, and... silver too!!http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Just in - another fabulous addition to the Gemma style of long wigs. Fabulously luscious, this new wig basically makes this item available from stock in black, blonde, red and now brown! Basically, we are now growing the range as and according to people's orders. This is partly out of necessity - ie when a wig is ordered that is not currently in stock, we have to order a minimum number and so that then increases our stock in terms of colour range available. It is also a good way to do it as it is customer lead.

We have also just got another two short style wigs. One is very much a blonde wig and in quite a flicky style as this goes down so well with the ladies of a certain age - or middle youthers, shall we call them!

The final new one is also a short style wig and in a lovely silver colour which is very popular at the moment. Even Lily Allen has been spotted wearing a silver wig!

Many ladies who, having come to terms with turning grey years ago, do not want to suddenly change hair colour just because it is thinning or they have alopecia. But it is difficult to match grey hair so a silver wig is often the best solution!

Video clips and better images

I have just bought a little camcorder to make better video clips and also to video the pieces parties. From next week, I will be making some new clips which will be much better as I will have the camcorder on a tripod and not have to squash so much in front of the little camera in my macbook. This will be much better. The views too of the wigs will be much better, showing off their length and lushness better.

In just under two weeks we will do the first photo shoot of real live models for the website. The models will be wearing the wigs and it will give a much better idea of what a wig can do for you to either just have fun for the evening, or to change your look altogether if you wear them all the time. Another important aspect of this is that we will have all the girls photographed wearing all the wigs irrespective of colour. So, we have two Indian girls whose natural hair is black. They will be seen in all other colours as I want people to get the idea that a wig does not have to look like your own hair - what would be the point? The idea is that you can have fun and experiment with other colours too. I have seen Japanese kids with their hair dyed blonde and against their skin colour it looks really great! Equally, a black girl with blonde or red hair looks stunning. Then, of course, you do not have to dye your own hair to have all this - just buy a wig for when you want to!
